Batiks, sarongs, silks and shirts

Batiks, sarongs, silks and shirts are to be had in this traditional textile district. This is Singapore's Muslim centre, and is also where you can get excellent basketware and rattan goods, flower essences, rosaries, songlok hats, and hajj caps. Be sure to haggle, as this is expected.

Malabar Muslim Jama-ath Mosque

Also not to be missed in Arab Street is the Malabar Muslim Jama-ath Mosque, which is considered the most beautiful and Sultan Mosque, which is the largest (and certainly the liveliest) mosque in Singapore.

Adventurous?

If you’re feeling adventurous, try the foodstalls in Bussorah Street and North Bridge Road for some authentic Indian Muslim food.
