Located in Wan Chai, JB’s, as the locals call it, transforms itself from a restaurant offering lunch fare to a lively hangout at night. It also has the reputation for being a pick-up bar, in fact, one of Hong Kong’s best. The place has a casual feel to it, what with its beachhouse décor. Be prepared to pay HK$ 100 (US$13) for the cover charge on Fridays and Saturdays, but women can usually get in for free until 1 a.m. The charge includes one drink. There are no cover charges for the other days of the week. At JB’s you can enjoy live music (this happens from Monday to Saturday from 8 pm. to midnight. After which a DJ takes over. Ladies, be sure to come on Wednesdays, because that is Ladies’ Night, free drinks for women from 6 p.m. to midnight. Joe Bananas opens on 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Mondays to Fridays, 3 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Saturdays and 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sundays. Happy hour starts at 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.
